Rudolf Helmut Sauter R.I., R.B.A.,R.P.S., R.W.A.Painter in oil, water-colou, tempera and pastels. He favoured landscapes, portratits and flowers a skilled illustrator, lithographer and etcher.Born May 5th 1895 to Professor George Sauter also and artist and Blanche Lillian Galsworthy. Rudolph was married to Viola A.E. Wood the nephew of John Galsworthy, author. He illustrated the Manaton Edition of the complete works of Galsworthy. Other principal works include: portraits of John Galsworthy, Sir Douglas Shields. Impressions of the Grand Canion and S Africa. Lithographs of Venice, Morocco and Sicily.He lived in London in the 1920’s. Bury House, Bury, Near Pullborough in 1927 and Wittersham kent in 1934
